Xiaomi has officially launched the REDMI Game Controller, a new accessory built for mobile and tablet gaming. The controller features a split design and is currently compatible only with the REDMI K Pad tablet and the REDMI K80 Extreme Edition smartphone. It includes a two-stage clamp system that attaches directly to these devices, offering a stable and adjustable grip.
The REDMI Game Controller comes with a built-in 600mAh battery and supports two operating modes: combined and split. In combined mode, both sides of the controller are attached to the device, while in split mode, the two sides can be used separately. The clamp mechanism can adapt to both smartphones and tablets, although the current design limits use to selected REDMI models.

The controller is built with comfort in mind, featuring a large grip layout for extended gaming sessions. It includes Hall effect joysticks for precise control, and users can swap out the joystick caps with three different height options included in the box. The direction pad is also replaceable, and the ABXY buttons and shoulder triggers use micro switches, which provide a distinct tactile response.
Xiaomi has added a light ring to the controller, offering three lighting effects for a more dynamic appearance. While the lights serve a visual function, no details were shared on whether they respond to gameplay or user interaction. The lighting settings can likely be adjusted through the companion software.

The controller supports Xiaomi’s Quick Connect feature. Initial setup requires a manual connection, but after the first pairing, the controller automatically connects once powered on. According to the company, the wireless connection is stable and has low latency, aimed at delivering a smooth gaming experience.
Xiaomi also provides access to a dedicated game space for users of this controller. Through this feature, players can customize button mappings and other settings based on their preferences or the games they play. This allows for more flexible control options across different titles.
At the time of release, Xiaomi has not confirmed the pricing or availability outside China. The current model is limited to REDMI’s latest tablet and smartphone, which may narrow its user base. However, the company could expand compatibility in the future if demand grows.
