Corsair is expanding its gaming chair lineup with the worldwide launch of the TC80 Gaming Chair, a $199.99 model designed for gamers, creators, and users who spend long hours at a desk. The new chair puts more emphasis on adjustable support and durability, with Corsair saying the TC80 has gone through more than 30 safety and durability tests before reaching the market.
The TC80 is built around a wide, flat seat with plush padding and breathable fabric upholstery, complemented by leatherette accents. A detachable neck pillow is included for users who want additional support, while the self-leveling armrests are designed to maintain a comfortable position as the chair reclines.
For adjustment, the Corsair TC80 provides 100 mm of height adjustment and a recline range from 90° to 115°. Rather than restricting users to a few fixed positions, the recline mechanism can be locked at the preferred angle within its range. Users can also adjust the recline tension to match how much resistance they prefer when leaning back.
Durability is another major part of the TC80’s design. The chair meets BIFMA X5.1 and EN 1335 standards and uses a steel five-star base, 50 mm casters, and a steel Class 4 gas lift. Corsair’s testing includes a 136 kg (300 lb) drop load test on the seat, a 1,001N backrest load test, and a 100,000-cycle seating durability test using a 57 kg (126 lb) load.
The tilt mechanism was tested for 300,000 cycles with 109 kg (240 lb) applied to the seat, while the armrests underwent 60,000 cycles at 400N. Corsair also tested the swivel mechanism for 120,000 cycles with a 122 kg (269 lb) load at different chair heights. These tests are intended to verify that the chair can handle repeated use over an extended period.
