Ubisoft has officially confirmed that the long-rumored Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced will be revealed on April 23, putting an end to weeks of speculation. The announcement came through a short teaser posted on X, where the publisher referenced the ongoing leaks with the phrase “Gaming’s worst-kept secret.”
According to the company, the reveal will take place during a global showcase streamed on Ubisoft’s YouTube channel. The broadcast is scheduled to begin at 16:00 UTC (18:00 CEST / 9:00 PDT), giving fans worldwide a first look at the updated version of one of the franchise’s most popular entries.
The confirmation follows a series of reports that pointed to an April reveal window. Earlier rumors suggested that the game could have been announced around April 16, but internal changes at Ubisoft appear to have shifted the timeline slightly. The delay comes amid a broader restructuring within the company, which has already impacted several projects and release schedules.

Industry insiders have also claimed that the remake could launch as early as July, although Ubisoft has not commented on a release date. If accurate, the short gap between reveal and launch would match the publisher’s recent approach, where marketing cycles have become more compact compared to previous years.
Originally released in 2013, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is often regarded as a high point for the series, thanks to its focus on naval exploration, open-world design, and the story of pirate captain Edward Kenway. A reworked version is expected to modernize the experience for current hardware, potentially including visual upgrades, performance improvements, and gameplay refinements.
More details are expected during the April 23 showcase, where Ubisoft is likely to outline what has changed and what players can expect from this new version
