PowerColor Launches Hellhound Radeon RX 9070 XT Resonance Edition with A Plague Tale Legacy Bundle

PowerColor has announced a new special edition version of its Hellhound Radeon RX 9070 XT, developed in collaboration with AMD and Focus Entertainment. Called the PowerColor Hellhound AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16 GB GDDR6 Resonance Edition, the graphics card is based on Resonance: A Plague Tale: Legacy and combines custom game-themed artwork with the company’s existing RX 9070 XT Hellhound cooling and hardware design.

The special edition card will be available from August 28, 2026, through selected PowerColor partners and retailers in participating markets. Each GPU will also include a full game code for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and a matching PowerColor Gaming Mousepad Resonance Edition. The bundled game code can be redeemed until August 26, 2027.

PowerColor has redesigned the Hellhound’s backplate for this release, adding artwork inspired by Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. The design features Sophia, the main character of the game, along with visuals based on the world and setting of the upcoming title. The graphics use weathered gold tones, giving the card a different look from the standard Hellhound RX 9070 XT models.

The RGB lighting has also been changed for the Resonance Edition. Instead of the usual Hellhound lighting options, PowerColor has used an amber glow designed to match the visual style of the game. A dual-stage switch allows users to adjust the lighting configuration.

Under the custom exterior, the Resonance Edition carries the same AMD RDNA 4-based Radeon RX 9070 XT hardware. The GPU features 64 Compute Units and 16 GB of GDDR6 memory running at 20.0 Gbps over a 256-bit memory bus. PowerColor rates the card for boost clocks of up to 3010 MHz when operating in OC mode.

The cooling system uses three fans, with reverse rotation designed to improve airflow through the heatsink. PowerColor also uses Japanese dual ball bearings, while a large copper plate makes direct contact with both the GPU and video memory. Honeywell PTM7950 phase-change thermal material is used to improve heat transfer between the GPU and the cooling assembly.

For quieter operation, the Intelligent Fan Controller stops the fans when the GPU temperature remains below 50°C. This allows the PowerColor Hellhound RX 9070 XT Resonance Edition to run silently during idle use and lighter workloads. The Dual BIOS switch also gives users the option to select a quieter profile when maximum performance is not required.

Power delivery is handled through a 10+1-phase design on a 12-layer PCB. While the card is visually different from the regular Hellhound RX 9070 XT, PowerColor is positioning the Resonance Edition as a full-performance Radeon RX 9070 XT rather than simply a cosmetic release.

The timing of the launch also makes this one of the first major game collaborations built around AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 XT family. With 16 GB of GDDR6 memory and AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture, the card is aimed at PC gamers looking for a high-performance GPU while also offering something extra for fans of the A Plague Tale series.

The included copy of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy means buyers can pair the hardware with the game that inspired its design. The matching mousepad completes the bundle, giving the special edition more value than a standard themed graphics card package.

PowerColor has confirmed that the Hellhound AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16 GB GDDR6 Resonance Edition will begin reaching selected retailers and partners on August 28, 2026. The company has not announced pricing, so the final cost and regional availability will likely depend on individual markets and retail partners.
