During the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, Korean developer EVR Studio officially revealed MUDANG: Two Hearts, a new third-person action title that puts a heavy focus on stealth and tactical gameplay. Drawing inspiration from classics like Metal Gear Solid, the game introduces a fictional narrative set against a backdrop of Korean reunification.
The game’s story unfolds around a major political turning point: the proposed reunification of North and South Korea into a single nation. However, on the day the bill is scheduled to be signed, a sudden terrorist attack targets the South Korean National Assembly. This sets the stage for a dual-character storyline where players follow two protagonists with drastically different lives and objectives.
Players will take control of Ji Jeongtae, a highly trained North Korean special forces operative deployed behind enemy lines to investigate the attack. The second main character is GAVI, a South Korean K-pop idol who lives under constant observation. Her involvement in the plot introduces a contrasting gameplay and narrative style that revolves more around surveillance, infiltration, and uncovering political intrigue. The two storylines gradually converge, with each character offering unique perspectives and gameplay mechanics.

MUDANG: Two Hearts places significant emphasis on open-ended level design. EVR Studio has built the game to offer multiple ways to approach missions, whether through direct confrontation, stealth, or strategic use of tools. The game includes a wide array of options such as environmental takedowns, a mix of lethal and non-lethal close-quarters combat techniques, and a variety of gadgets. Players will have access to EMP devices, grenades, tracking goggles, lures, and mines, as well as a full selection of firearms.
The development team has also highlighted the game’s advanced enemy AI. According to EVR Studio, enemy behavior dynamically responds to the player’s actions. For instance, if a player disables lighting or leaves unconscious guards behind, enemies may investigate and call for backup. In combat, enemies will attempt to flank and coordinate attacks, forcing players to adapt quickly.

In addition to gameplay mechanics, MUDANG will feature fully integrated cutscenes that aim to maintain immersion without breaking the flow of the game. The narrative will adapt based on player choices, offering a branching story with different outcomes. Boss battles are also expected to play a central role, with complex encounters designed to test both reflexes and strategy.
MUDANG: Two Hearts is scheduled for release in 2026 and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
