During the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, inXile Entertainment unveiled a new trailer for Clockwork Revolution, offering the most comprehensive look at the game so far. The trailer featured several minutes of gameplay, introduced new characters, and provided a deeper look into the world and story players will explore. However, a concrete release date was still absent.
The trailer concluded with a cryptic message stating the game will arrive “in due time.” It ended on a memorable note as one of the characters, a doll-like figure described as “The Pissed-Off Doll,” delivered a blunt message to viewers: “Piss off.” While humorous, the moment left fans with more questions than answers regarding when they can expect to play the game.
Shortly after the trailer’s release, Xbox Wire published an article that included a developer interview shedding more light on the project. According to the post, players will take on the role of Morgan Vanette, a member of the Rotten Row Hooligans gang. The story centers around Vanette’s efforts to prevent the powerful Lady Ironwood from rewriting history to reshape the world according to her vision.

The developers describe a setting heavily influenced by steampunk aesthetics, filled with intricate machinery, time manipulation mechanics, and social unrest. The ability to influence past events to change future outcomes appears to be a key gameplay element. While the trailer didn’t reveal too much about how the time-travel mechanics will work, it hinted at choices having a lasting impact on the story and game world.

Initially, Clockwork Revolution was rumored to launch sometime in 2025. That window may still be possible, but the lack of a date at this showcase has led to speculation that the release may slip into 2026. Xbox did provide release dates for other major titles coming later this year, which makes the absence of one for Clockwork Revolution more noticeable.
Despite the uncertainty around the launch, the new trailer has generated renewed interest in the title. The visuals, character designs, and world-building elements suggest a game with ambitious scope. InXile, known for its work on narrative-driven RPGs like Wasteland 3, appears to be aiming for a more action-oriented experience this time around while still retaining a strong focus on storytelling.
As the year progresses, more updates are expected to follow. For now, fans will have to wait for additional news on when they can explore the time-bending world of Clockwork Revolution.
