GuliKit has confirmed the global launch of its Joy-Con 2 TMR Magnetic Replacement Joystick set, a new accessory designed for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The company is positioning the product as a long-term fix for stick drift, a problem that has affected many users of the original Nintendo Switch controllers.
The new module introduces Tunnel Magnetoresistance (TMR) technology, a non-contact sensing method that reduces physical wear inside the joystick. Traditional Joy-Con sticks rely on carbon film components that degrade over time, which can lead to inaccurate inputs or drifting. By removing direct contact points, GuliKit’s design aims to extend the lifespan of the joystick while maintaining consistent input response.

This release builds on the company’s earlier work with Hall Effect joystick replacements. While Hall Effect solutions already improved durability compared to stock modules, GuliKit says TMR offers better sensitivity, lower power consumption, and improved signal stability. These changes may also contribute to better battery efficiency in daily use.
The Joy-Con 2 replacement joystick is designed as a direct 1:1 fit, matching the internal layout of the original module. Installation follows the same process as replacing a standard joystick, with no soldering required. After installation, users can complete calibration through the system settings, keeping the upgrade process relatively simple.

GuliKit has also addressed potential interference issues linked to the Joy-Con 2’s magnetic attachment system. The company developed a dual-layer protection design that includes internal layout adjustments and an alloy-based outer housing. This setup is intended to shield the sensor from nearby magnetic fields and maintain stable performance during gameplay.

As part of its announcement, GuliKit highlighted its role in the broader controller component market. The company develops and manufactures its joystick modules in-house and holds patents across several regions. It also works with established hardware brands such as Corsair, ASUS ROG, and SCUF Gaming, supplying components and technical solutions.
The Joy-Con 2 TMR Magnetic Replacement Joystick set is scheduled for release on May 12, 2026. It will be available first through Amazon in the United States, followed by listings in Europe and the United Kingdom. Pricing is set at $19.99, €19.99, and £16.99, respectively, with broader retail availability expected after launch.
