CMF by Nothing Teases New Wireless Earbuds, Could This Be the Buds 3?

CMF by Nothing appears to be preparing another pair of wireless earbuds, and the timing suggests the CMF Buds 3 could be next. The company has posted a teaser showing an unreleased in-ear model, giving fans an early look at what could become the successor to the CMF Buds 2 series.

The teaser does not confirm the product name, launch date, or specifications, but it does show a design that is quite different from CMF’s recent Clip Pro open-ear earbuds. The new earbuds use silicone ear tips and a conventional stem-style design, pointing toward a more familiar wireless earbud format.

The image shared by CMF carries the message “A hint of what’s next” and shows an earbud with a silver-colored body, silicone tip, and two visible microphones. The microphones could be used for voice calls and noise reduction, although CMF has not confirmed whether the new model will feature active noise cancellation.

There is currently no official information about the earbuds’ hardware. CMF has not revealed the driver size, Bluetooth version, supported audio codecs, battery capacity, charging case specifications, or expected price. The company has also not confirmed whether this product will be sold as the CMF Buds 3.

The timing, however, makes the CMF Buds 3 name a reasonable possibility. The CMF Buds 2 family launched more than a year ago and included multiple models, giving CMF plenty of room to refresh the lineup with a new generation.

Based on the teaser, buyers can currently expect:

  • Traditional in-ear design with silicone ear tips
  • Stem-style earbud design
  • Two visible microphones on the earbud
  • Silver-colored finish shown in the teaser
  • Potential successor to the CMF Buds 2 lineup
  • Official specifications and pricing still unconfirmed

CMF’s decision to tease another conventional pair of earbuds shortly after introducing the Clip Pro also gives the company more options in the audio market. The Clip Pro targets users who prefer an open-ear design, while the teased model appears aimed at people who want the stronger seal associated with traditional in-ear earbuds.

The biggest question is pricing. CMF has generally positioned its audio products below Nothing’s main-brand offerings, so the next-generation earbuds could appeal to buyers looking for features such as ANC without moving into the higher price ranges occupied by premium wireless earbuds.

For now, the CMF Buds 3 name remains unconfirmed, and there is no official launch date. CMF’s teaser suggests that an announcement is approaching, though, so more details could emerge soon. Until the company provides the full specifications, the new earbuds should be treated as an upcoming CMF product rather than a confirmed Buds 3 launch.
