Publisher NC and developer Big Fire Games have shared a new developer preview for Cinder City, giving players another look at the upcoming cinematic sci-fi third-person shooter while also launching the game’s official Steam store page. The listing provides fresh details about the game’s world, story, multiplayer features, and official PC system requirements. One specification, however, has caught immediate attention, as the recommended hardware calls for 64GB of RAM, a figure rarely seen in modern PC game requirements.
Set in a near-future version of Seoul, Cinder City follows an alternate timeline created by a single historical event that changes the course of the 21st century. The once-modern city has been left in ruins after being overrun by mutants and powerful criminal organizations. Humanity’s remaining hope lies with the Cinder Knights, elite super soldiers tasked with reclaiming the city.
Players step into the role of Seven, one of the Cinder Knights, whose mission begins in Samseong-dong as he searches for his daughter, Zoe. As the story unfolds, players will uncover hidden secrets buried beneath the massive city while becoming involved in events that could determine the future of humanity.
According to the developers, Cinder City is built around three core gameplay pillars:
- Cinematic third-person shooter combat.
- A large open-world version of dystopian Seoul.
- Large-scale cooperative multiplayer PvE gameplay.
Unlike a traditional single-player shooter, the game also incorporates MMO-inspired mechanics. Players will be able to team up with others to complete cooperative PvE missions and tackle larger encounters across an evolving open world. Big Fire Games says the battlefield will continue to expand as players progress through the game’s story and multiplayer content, combining narrative progression with shared online experiences.

The newly opened Steam page also includes the official PC requirements.

While the CPU and GPU recommendations are in line with many current PC releases, the memory requirement is unusual. Most recent AAA titles recommend 16GB or 32GB of RAM, making Cinder City one of the few games to officially recommend 64GB. The Steam page does not explain the reason behind the requirement, leaving open the possibility that it is related to the game’s open-world design, multiplayer systems, or future optimization changes before launch.
The Steam listing does not include a release date or launch window. However, NC stated as recently as early June that the company was still targeting a release later this year. With the Steam page now available and new developer updates beginning to arrive more frequently, more information about Cinder City‘s launch plans is expected in the coming months.
