REDMAGIC has officially revealed the design of its upcoming Astra 2 Gaming Tablet ahead of its scheduled launch on June 30. The company has shared a closer look at the new gaming tablet, showing its transparent rear design, cooling-focused appearance, and hardware features aimed at mobile gamers.
The REDMAGIC Astra 2 Gaming Tablet follows the brand’s gaming-focused design approach instead of using the traditional tablet appearance. The device will arrive in black and silver colour options, with a transparent rear panel that reveals parts of the internal cooling system. This design choice gives users a look at the hardware inside while also matching the gaming identity of the REDMAGIC lineup.
The rear section also includes an RGB lighting system connected to the cooling setup. The lighting effects are designed to respond to performance activity, adding visual feedback during gaming sessions. REDMAGIC has used similar gaming elements in its previous products, and the Astra 2 continues that design direction with a focus on both function and appearance.
The front of the tablet features a large display with minimal bezels, creating more space for games, videos, and other content. REDMAGIC has avoided adding a visible camera cut-out, allowing the screen to maintain a cleaner layout.
The company has confirmed that the Astra 2 Gaming Tablet will feature a 9-inch OLED display with a 2400 x 1504 pixel resolution. The panel supports up to a 185Hz refresh rate, which should help deliver smoother motion in competitive games and fast-paced content.
The OLED display technology also brings advantages such as deeper blacks, better contrast, and improved colour reproduction compared to standard LCD panels. For gamers, the higher refresh rate and faster response time can help provide a more responsive experience.
Under the hood, the REDMAGIC Astra 2 Gaming Tablet will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The tablet will also use an active liquid-cooling system to manage heat during demanding gaming sessions and maintain performance over longer periods.
