More than a year after its initial release on PlayStation 5, Shift Up has officially announced that Stellar Blade will arrive on PC in June. The confirmation came during Sony’s recent State of Play event, where the South Korean developer provided an update on the game‘s expansion to a new platform. The game’s Steam Store Page has also gone live, though key details such as system requirements and additional PC-specific features remain undisclosed.
Stellar Blade is a post-apocalyptic action-adventure game that features fast-paced melee combat, incorporating weapons like blades, machine guns, and laser blasters. Players control Eve, a warrior fighting against grotesque alien creatures that have overrun Earth. Combat sequences include visceral visual effects, such as black splatter effects and the ability to impale, dismember, or decapitate enemies. The game’s narrative explores mature themes, including references to suicide and torture, while also featuring characters engaging in alcohol and tobacco consumption, though there are no direct depictions of smoking or intoxication.
Alongside the PC release, Shift Up has also announced a crossover DLC in collaboration with GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE, a popular mobile gacha game developed by Shift Up and published by Level Infinite. This follows the precedent set by Stellar Blade’s previous collaboration with NieR: Automata, which introduced thematic content and character skins inspired by Yoko Taro’s action RPG. Details regarding the specific content of the NIKKE DLC, including new playable skins, missions, or gameplay mechanics, have yet to be revealed.
Since its launch, Stellar Blade has garnered attention for its visually striking presentation and polished action gameplay. The game’s art direction and character design have drawn comparisons to other stylized action titles, with discussions surrounding the protagonist Eve’s appearance being a recurring topic among players. Despite these debates, the game has been well-received for its responsive combat mechanics, engaging enemy encounters, and high production values.
With the PC version set to launch in just a few months, fans are eager to see how Stellar Blade will take advantage of the platform’s capabilities. Key considerations include potential support for higher resolutions, unlocked frame rates, customizable graphical settings, and compatibility with ultra-wide monitors. While Shift Up has yet to confirm these details, the developer’s previous handling of GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE on PC suggests a willingness to optimize the experience for different hardware configurations.
Stellar Blade remains a PlayStation 5 exclusive until its PC release in June. Further information regarding the game’s system requirements and the full scope of the NIKKE DLC is expected to be revealed in the coming months.
