Build a Rocket Boy Unveils New Gameplay Trailer for MindsEye, Confirms Summer Release

After an extended period of limited updates, developer Build a Rocket Boy has released a new gameplay trailer for MindsEye, a story-driven action-adventure thriller. The reveal took place during the recent State of Play broadcast, where the studio also confirmed that the game is scheduled for release in the summer of this year. MindsEye will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X, with IO Interactive serving as the game’s publisher.

Leslie Benzies, Game Director of MindsEye, is leading the project. Benzies, known for his work as a producer on multiple Grand Theft Auto titles, including GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, GTA IV, and GTA V, shared his thoughts on the game’s development.

“I’ve dedicated my entire career to crafting captivating interactive entertainment to delight players. With MindsEye, we’ve pushed cinematic adventure to the next level—building characters and a world that feels truly alive. We can’t wait for players to step in and feel the immersive realism and tireless effort poured into every moment of the game,” Benzies stated.

MindsEye is built using the same technology that powers Everywhere, the studio’s ambitious user-generated content platform. The game follows Jacob Diaz, a character who receives a mysterious neural implant—known as the MindsEye—which triggers fragmented flashbacks from his time in the service.

Set in Redrock, a fictional desert metropolis in a near-future world, the game explores themes of artificial intelligence, corporate control, and a global struggle for power. As Earth teeters on the brink of collapse, Jacob finds himself entangled in a high-stakes battle for survival while uncovering deep-rooted conspiracies that threaten humanity’s future.

MindsEye offers an intense third-person action experience where every combat encounter requires strategic decision-making. Enemies operate with coordinated tactics, flushing players from cover and attacking in groups to overwhelm them. Success in combat depends on quick reflexes, tactical positioning, and effective use of the environment.

In addition to firefights, the game features high-speed vehicle chases that demand precise driving skills. Players will navigate diverse locations, including densely populated city districts, remote industrial sites, trailer parks, and expansive desert landscapes. The inclusion of a companion drone adds an extra layer of tactical depth, allowing players to scan environments, mark enemies, and assist in combat.

With its blend of cinematic storytelling and action-oriented gameplay, MindsEye aims to deliver an immersive experience that builds upon Benzies’ legacy in open-world and narrative-driven game design. The game is now available for wishlist on Steam, giving players an opportunity to stay updated on its upcoming release.

More details about the game, including potential multiplayer components or additional gameplay mechanics, are expected to be revealed in the coming months as the release window approaches.
