REPLACED Delayed to 14 April 2026 as Developers Aim for Polished Day-One Launch

Indie action platformer REPLACED will now launch on 14 April 2026, developer Sad Cat Studios has confirmed. The team shared that while development has reached its final stage and the game is technically complete, additional time is needed to refine the overall experience before release.

According to the studio, the decision followed internal discussions during the closing phase of development. As a small team working on its first title, the developers explained that the last stretch highlighted areas where extra polish would make a difference. The goal is to deliver a stable build on day one that reflects the original vision and avoids technical issues that can affect early impressions.

REPLACED has attracted attention for its cinematic pixel-art presentation and dystopian setting. The side-scrolling action game blends narrative elements with combat-focused gameplay, and its art direction has been one of its most talked-about features since its initial reveal. In recent months, players were able to try the Steam demo, which offered an early look at gameplay systems and overall performance.

The studio described the demo launch as an important milestone. Community feedback, gameplay clips, and user reviews have helped shape final adjustments. The team says it has been closely monitoring player responses and is applying that input to improve balance, stability, and polish across the game.

While delays can be disappointing for those waiting to play, Sad Cat Studios emphasized that the additional weeks will ensure the final product meets expectations. The REPLACED demo remains available on Steam for players who want an early look ahead of the new April 2026 release date.
