After being revealed in January 2025, NINJA GAIDEN 4 has now officially launched across multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox consoles, and ROG Ally handhelds. Developed by Team Ninja in partnership with PlatinumGames, the latest entry revives one of the most respected names in the action genre. The game not only continues the story of the legendary ninja Ryu Hayabusa, but also introduces a new playable hero, Yakumo, a rising prodigy from the Raven Clan whose journey intersects with Ryu’s legacy.
The new installment takes the familiar fast-paced combat that the series is known for and enhances it with modern gameplay systems. The combat mechanics have been redesigned with layered controls, improved weapon handling, and a more tactical flow. Players can switch between fighting forms and techniques mid-battle, opening new ways to approach enemies and bosses. Team Ninja states that this evolution brings depth to the game while maintaining the intensity and precision that define the NINJA GAIDEN experience.

The developers released an official launch trailer alongside the full PC system requirements. To achieve 1080p resolution at 30 FPS, players will need at least an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3400G processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 590 (8 GB) GPU. The recommended setup targets 1080p at 60 FPS, requiring an Intel Core i5-10400 or Ryzen 5 3600 paired with a GeForce RTX 2060 Super (8 GB) or Radeon RX 5700XT (8 GB). The game also needs 100 GB of SSD storage, indicating high-resolution textures and detailed environments.

NINJA GAIDEN 4 is available in both Standard and Deluxe Editions. The Deluxe Edition includes additional cosmetic options, a digital soundtrack, and an art book. For those looking beyond the base game, Team Ninja confirmed a post-launch DLC titled “The Two Masters”, planned for release in 2026. This expansion is expected to extend the storyline and add new combat features.
While maintaining its identity as a challenging action series, NINJA GAIDEN 4 introduces adjustable difficulty settings and quality-of-life improvements that make it accessible to new players without compromising the demanding combat that veterans expect. The inclusion of Yakumo adds a new narrative perspective, offering players a look into the next generation of ninjas in the series.

With its release, NINJA GAIDEN 4 marks a major milestone for the franchise. The game aims to bridge the gap between long-time fans and new players by combining fast, skill-based combat with a modernized design approach. Team Ninja and PlatinumGames’ collaboration brings new life to the iconic series while keeping the spirit of NINJA GAIDEN intact for today’s platforms.
