Lenovo Launches Legion R7 Pro Gaming Mouse With PAW 3950 Sensor and 8K Wireless Polling

Lenovo is adding another high-end option to its Legion gaming lineup with the new Legion R7 Pro gaming mouse, bringing an 8K polling rate, PAW 3950 sensor, and a lightweight 59g design to a mouse priced at 449 yuan (around $63 USD). The new Gaming Mouse is aimed at gamers who want high-speed tracking and low-latency wireless connectivity without moving to a heavier mouse design.

The Legion R7 Pro uses the PixArt PAW 3950 sensor, with a scan rate of more than 20,000 FPS. Lenovo pairs it with the Telink 3228 main control chip, which handles the mouse’s high-speed input processing. The mouse supports 8,000Hz polling in both wired and wireless modes, giving users the option to use the higher polling rate without being tied to a cable.

For wireless operation, Lenovo uses its LEGION Link gaming solution to maintain a stable signal. The mouse is also designed around a right-handed asymmetrical shape, with Lenovo saying the grip curve was reconstructed using player data. This is combined with a Speed Glide skin-friendly coating intended to provide a consistent feel while gaming.

Keeping the weight at around 59 grams is another important part of the design. Lenovo has used an embedded keel structure inside the mouse to provide additional support without adding unnecessary weight. The result is a lightweight chassis with a reinforced internal structure.

The main buttons use Lenovo’s custom mechanical microswitches, which are rated for up to 120 million clicks. This gives the Legion R7 Pro a considerably higher advertised switch lifespan than many conventional gaming mice.

Users can also adjust the mouse’s parameters through Lenovo’s LEGION Zone software or its web interface. This provides access to configuration options without requiring a separate utility for different settings.

The Legion R7 Pro is available in Carbon Black and Ice White finishes. At 449 yuan, or approximately $63, it enters a competitive part of the gaming mouse market where lightweight designs, high polling rates, and modern optical sensors have become increasingly common. Lenovo has so far announced the mouse for the Chinese market, with international availability and pricing yet to be confirmed.
