Keychron has followed up its recent G3 release with two new wireless gaming mice, the G4 and G5. Both models share the same internal hardware but differ in design, materials, and weight, offering users a choice between a retro-styled build and a more traditional lightweight gaming option.

The G4 features a compact symmetrical shape with a mid-hump profile and an ABS shell. Its design leans toward a retro aesthetic, combining off-white and reddish-brown colors. Keychron has also added pixel-style hardware buttons and toggles on the underside, giving it a distinct look compared to most gaming mice on the market.

The G5, on the other hand, sticks to a more familiar design language, using a carbon fiber shell that helps reduce overall weight. Despite being slightly larger, the G5 weighs 43 grams, making it noticeably lighter than the 55-gram G4.
Both mice are equipped with the PixArt PAW3950 sensor, which supports up to 8,000 Hz polling in wired and 2.4 GHz wireless modes. Bluetooth 5.3 is also included for everyday use, where lower power consumption is preferred. Keychron rates both models at 500 mAh, with the G4 offering up to 130 hours and the G5 up to 162 hours in Bluetooth mode.

Battery life varies depending on the polling rate. At 4,000 Hz over 2.4 GHz, the G4 is rated for up to 36 hours, while the G5 reaches 38 hours. Lowering the polling rate to 1,000 Hz extends usage to 130 hours on the G4 and 153 hours on the G5, which aligns with typical gaming scenarios.
Both the G4 and G5 use Huano Transparent Yellow Shell White Dot switches, rated for up to 120 million clicks. Pricing is set at $79.99 for the G4 and $109.99 for the G5, placing them in the mid-to-high range of wireless gaming mice.
