TeamGroup has secured two new invention patents in Taiwan for its PD20M Mag Portable SSD and T-CREATE EXPERT P34F Find My External SSD. The patents cover two different technologies designed to improve portable storage, including magnetic attachment and built-in device tracking. Both products had already received patent approvals in other markets, with the latest registrations further expanding TeamGroup’s intellectual property portfolio.
The TeamGroup PD20M Mag Portable SSD has received a Taiwan invention patent for its magnetic attachment technology, following an earlier invention patent in the United States and a utility model patent in Japan. As the company’s first MagSafe-compatible external SSD, the drive features an 8.2mm-thick body and weighs only 40g. Its magnetic design allows it to attach to compatible devices, providing additional storage without requiring a bulky mounting setup.

The PD20M Mag also supports direct Apple ProRes video recording when paired with compatible iPhone 15 Pro series models and newer supported devices. This feature allows users to record high-quality video directly to the external SSD, helping content creators manage large video files without depending entirely on their iPhone’s internal storage.
TeamGroup’s second patent covers the T-CREATE EXPERT P34F Find My External SSD, which is the company’s first external SSD to include built-in location tracking. The technology has now received a Taiwan invention patent, following earlier utility model patents in Taiwan and China. The P34F works with Apple’s Find My application, allowing users to locate the external drive through compatible Apple devices. It also includes a built-in speaker that can play an alert sound when users need help finding the SSD nearby.
The P34F also features a compact design and a dedicated lanyard hole, making it easier to carry between different locations. This could be particularly useful for photographers, video editors, and other professionals who regularly transport external storage drives containing important files.
TeamGroup says it will continue investing in research and development while expanding its patent portfolio. The company also plans to bring more patented technologies into mass-produced storage products, focusing on practical features that improve portability, usability, and data management.
