Gamers looking for a smaller alternative to traditional headsets will soon have another option to consider. Edifier’s gaming brand HECATE is preparing to launch the GX05 Master Edition, a new pair of TWS gaming earbuds that combines 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, Bluetooth 6.0, active noise cancellation, and a dedicated RGB wireless dock.
The HECATE GX05 Master Edition uses a 10mm titanium-plated driver paired with an N52 neodymium iron boron magnet. The driver design also includes a PEEK polymer substrate and PU flexible suspension edge. HECATE lists the earbuds with a sensitivity of 98dB and total harmonic distortion below 0.5%, while Hi-Res AUDIO WIRELESS certification and LDAC 5.0 support give the earbuds a higher-quality wireless audio option on compatible devices.
For gaming, the 2.4GHz wireless connection provides a low-latency option for gameplay. The earbuds also support Bluetooth 6.0, giving users a second wireless option for phones, tablets, and other compatible devices. HECATE has included preset EQ tuning for mainstream FPS games, letting users switch to a gaming-focused sound profile without manually adjusting the equalizer.
The GX05 Master Edition also puts considerable focus on noise reduction. Its hybrid ANC system is rated for noise reduction of up to -50dB, while dual microphones are used for ENC call noise reduction. This setup is aimed at reducing background noise during voice chats and making communication easier during gaming sessions.
At just 5 grams per earbud, the GX05 Master Edition is designed to keep the fit light during longer sessions. The earbuds carry an IPX4 rating and offer up to 12.5 hours of battery life. Actual runtime will vary depending on connectivity and features such as ANC.
The charging solution is also designed around PC gaming. HECATE’s zinc alloy RGB cybernetic docking station works as the 2.4GHz wireless receiver, charging dock, and USB expansion port. The dock can provide two additional charges for the earbuds, reducing the need to keep a separate wireless receiver and conventional charging case connected to a gaming setup.
The combination of 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 6.0, and LHDC 5.0 makes the GX05 Master Edition suitable for more than just PC gaming. Users can switch between gaming-focused wireless connectivity and Bluetooth devices depending on what they are using. The dedicated dock also gives the setup a more desktop-oriented design than many conventional TWS earbuds.

HECATE has yet to announce the official price and release date for the GX05 Master Edition. If the pricing is competitive, the new earbuds could attract gamers who want features normally associated with wireless gaming headsets in a much smaller form factor.
