Belkin Launches 14-in-1 Thunderbolt 5 Dock With 140W Charging and Triple 4K Display Support

The transition to Thunderbolt 5 hardware is slowly gaining momentum, and Belkin is among the latest companies to introduce a docking solution built around Intel’s newest connectivity standard. The company has officially launched its 14-in-1 Thunderbolt 5 Dock in China, offering higher bandwidth, powerful laptop charging, and extensive display connectivity for users building desktop workstations.

Priced at 2,299 yuan (around $338), the dock is designed to replace multiple adapters with a single connection while supporting creators, professionals, and users who regularly work with external displays, fast storage devices, and wired networking.

The dock connects to a computer through a dedicated Thunderbolt 5 upstream port capable of delivering up to 140W USB Power Delivery. This allows compatible laptops, including high-performance models, to remain charged while connected to multiple peripherals. Belkin includes a 180W power adapter and a one-meter Thunderbolt 5 cable in the retail package to support its full power capabilities.

Thunderbolt 5 brings a significant increase in bandwidth over previous generations. The dock supports 80Gbps of standard bi-directional data transfer, while its Bandwidth Boost feature can dynamically increase available throughput to 120Gbps whenever higher display bandwidth is required.

Display support is one of the dock’s biggest features. It includes both DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1, allowing compatible systems to output resolutions up to 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 240Hz. Users can also connect additional displays through the dock’s two downstream Thunderbolt 5 ports, which also provide up to 15W charging for accessories.

Windows users with compatible hardware can connect up to three external 4K monitors running at 144Hz, enabling a total of four independent displays. Mac compatibility depends on Apple’s processor generation. Systems powered by M4 and M5 chips can support multiple external displays, while M1, M2, and M3 Macs remain limited by Apple’s own display restrictions.

Belkin has also equipped the dock with a wide range of ports for storage, networking, and everyday accessories.

Key features include:

  • 1× Thunderbolt 5 upstream port with 140W USB Power Delivery
  • 2× Thunderbolt 5 downstream ports with 15W charging
  • 1× DisplayPort 2.1
  • 1× HDMI 2.1
  • 1× USB-C 3.2 port with 30W charging
  • 1× USB-C 3.2 port with 7.5W output
  • 1× USB-A 3.2 (10Gbps)
  • 2× USB-A 3.0 (5Gbps)
  • 1× 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port
  • 1× 3.5mm audio jack
  • UHS-II SD 4.0 card reader
  • UHS-II microSD 4.0 card reader supporting transfer speeds up to 312MB/s

The dock features an aluminum enclosure measuring 22.2 × 8.5 × 2 cm and weighing 510 grams. Belkin says its distributed thermal management system helps reduce heat during extended workloads. Additional hardware features include a physical power button, an LED status indicator, and a Kensington lock slot for added security.

Although the dock supports Thunderbolt 4, USB4, and standard USB-C devices, users should expect lower bandwidth and reduced display capabilities when using older connection standards. Belkin also confirms that Thunderbolt 3 laptops and displays are not supported, making newer hardware necessary to access all Thunderbolt 5 features.

As more Thunderbolt 5 laptops arrive on the market, Belkin’s latest dock offers a complete desktop expansion solution for users looking to connect multiple displays, high-speed storage, wired networking, and charging through a single cable.
