GIGABYTE Launches AORUS GeForce RTX 5080 INFINITY and INFINITY WOOD GPUs

GIGABYTE has officially expanded its anniversary graphics card lineup with the launch of the AORUS GeForce RTX 5080 INFINITY 16G and AORUS GeForce RTX 5080 INFINITY WOOD 16G. The new models join the limited-edition INFINITY family, which was introduced to celebrate the company’s 40th anniversary. Both graphics cards made their first appearance during COMPUTEX 2026 earlier this month after the flagship RTX 5090 INFINITY series debuted earlier this year.

The latest additions continue the same visual design introduced with the RTX 5090 INFINITY. GIGABYTE has once again taken inspiration from aircraft engines, combining circular RGB lighting with a turbine-like cooler shroud. RGB illumination surrounds both the inner and outer rings of the heatsink, creating a distinctive lighting effect while maintaining the overall appearance of the INFINITY series.

Although both graphics cards share the same hardware specifications, GIGABYTE has given each model its own identity. The standard AORUS GeForce RTX 5080 INFINITY features a dark color scheme aimed at gaming systems, while the INFINITY WOOD version pairs silver accents with a wood-inspired finish along the top edge of the cooler. According to GIGABYTE, the wood appearance is created using either high-precision printed textures or a thin wood veneer instead of solid wood, allowing the card to maintain durability while offering a unique aesthetic.

Cooling is one of the major highlights of the new graphics cards. Both models feature GIGABYTE’s WINDFORCE Hyperburst cooling system, which introduces a Double Flow Through design. Instead of relying on a conventional airflow path, the left and right fans direct cool air through the heatsink while the dual-sided vents on the backplate help exhaust heat more efficiently. GIGABYTE claims this design increases airflow by up to 58% compared to traditional backplates and by as much as 28% over single-vented designs.

The company also equips both graphics cards with Hawk fans, which are designed to improve cooling efficiency while reducing operating noise. GIGABYTE says the fans deliver up to 53.6% higher air pressure and 12.5% greater airflow. An additional hidden Overdrive fan is positioned in the center of the cooler and activates automatically when GPU temperatures and workload increase, providing extra thermal performance during demanding gaming or content creation tasks.

The thermal solution also includes a large direct-contact heatsink connected to composite copper heat pipes for improved heat transfer. GIGABYTE applies a high-conductivity composite metal thermal paste on the GPU itself, while server-grade thermal gel is used across memory chips and MOSFETs. This approach helps maintain proper contact even on uneven component surfaces and contributes to long-term cooling performance.

Powered by NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture, both graphics cards come equipped with 16GB of GDDR7 memory connected through a 256-bit memory interface. The AORUS GeForce RTX 5080 INFINITY WOOD ships with a factory overclock, boosting its core clock to 2,805 MHz compared to NVIDIA’s reference clock of 2,617 MHz. The card measures 330mm in length, 145mm in width, and 65mm in height, occupying a three-slot design that is suitable for high-performance desktop systems.

Another feature aimed at PC builders is full compatibility with GIGABYTE’s Project Stealth ecosystem. The graphics cards relocate the power connector to the rear side, allowing cables to be routed behind the motherboard tray for a cleaner appearance inside the case. A magnetic backplate further helps conceal cable routing while improving the overall presentation of the graphics card.
