Sony is reportedly preparing a new State of Play presentation for February 2026, according to information shared by industry insider NateTheHate2 on X. In a response to followers, the leaker claimed the event is planned for the first half of February, with February 12 mentioned as the expected date.
As of now, Sony has not officially confirmed the State of Play. No details were shared regarding specific announcements or reveals, but the report has led to renewed discussion around Sony’s upcoming release schedule and unannounced projects.
Several PlayStation titles are already confirmed for release in 2026. These include Marvel’s Wolverine, Dune: Awakening, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and Saros, which is currently open for pre-orders. A February State of Play would give Sony an opportunity to share new gameplay footage, release windows, or development updates for these games.

Another project drawing attention is the Horizon multiplayer title, which has appeared in previous reports but has yet to be formally announced by Sony. Fans expect that a State of Play could be used to provide clarity on the project’s status, along with other first-party and third-party updates.
There is also ongoing speculation around a possible next-generation version of Red Dead Redemption 2. Reports have suggested Rockstar Games may be working on an updated release, though neither Rockstar nor Sony has commented. While unconfirmed, some believe a PlayStation showcase would be a logical place for such a reveal if it exists.
Sony has traditionally used State of Play events to deliver focused updates rather than large-scale announcements, making February a reasonable window for a mid-cycle showcase. If the reported date is accurate, an official announcement from Sony is likely to arrive closer to the event.
Until then, all information should be treated as unofficial, with confirmation pending from PlayStation.
