RAPOO is adding two new lightweight gaming mice to its lineup, with the VT2 V2 and VT2s V2 set to launch at 8:00 PM tonight. The two models share the same main hardware, including Nordic’s nRF54L15 controller and PixArt’s PAW3950 sensor, but differ in size and shape to target different hand sizes and grip preferences.
The VT2 V2 is the larger of the two mice, measuring 126 × 63 × 40 mm and weighing around 55 ± 2 grams. RAPOO has given it a high-back design and says it supports all major grip styles, making it the more suitable option for users with medium to large hands. The VT2s V2 is smaller at 119 × 62 × 39 mm and weighs approximately 52 ± 2 grams. It is aimed at small to medium hands and is designed primarily for claw and fingertip grips.
Both models use PixArt’s PAW3950 optical sensor and Nordic’s nRF54L15 main controller. RAPOO also supports an 8KHz polling rate through both USB-C and 2.4GHz wireless connections. This allows the mice to send position updates at a much higher frequency than standard 1KHz gaming mice, although the higher polling rate also has a direct effect on battery life.
The two mice feature 100M Omron mechanical microswitches for their primary buttons and a 2M TTC mechanical encoder for the scroll wheel. An internal keel structure is also used to reinforce the chassis. The PAW3950 sensor supports a high-frame-rate mode of at least 20,000 FPS, providing the tracking hardware needed for high-refresh-rate gaming setups.
RAPOO has fitted both mice with an 800mAh battery. At a 1KHz polling rate, the company claims up to 750 hours of battery life. Running at the maximum 8KHz polling rate brings the claimed runtime down to up to 120 hours, which is still a substantial figure for a high-polling-rate wireless mouse.
The VT2 V2 and VT2s V2 will be available in black, white, red, and pink. With two different body sizes and the same underlying sensor and wireless platform, RAPOO is positioning the new models as options for gamers who want high polling rates without moving to a heavier mouse.
