Maxsun has added three new Micro-ATX motherboards to its AMD AM5 lineup, giving Ryzen users more compact B850 options with PCIe 5.0, fast networking, Wi-Fi 6, and support for high-speed DDR5 memory. The new models include the MS-B850M I-CAFE, MS-Challenger B850M-P WIFI, and MS-Challenger B850M-B WIFI, with each board targeting a slightly different type of system.
The MS-B850M I-CAFE is designed for Maxsun’s internet cafe product range and uses the series’ red-and-black color scheme. It comes with an 8+2+1 phase power design built around 50A DrMOS, along with two PCIe slots and two M.2 PCIe SSD slots. The board also provides 2.5GbE LAN and distributed debug LEDs, which can be useful when troubleshooting systems during assembly or maintenance.
The two Challenger models share most of their core specifications but differ in memory and board layout. The MS-Challenger B850M-P WIFI is the larger standard Micro-ATX version with four DIMM slots, while the MS-Challenger B850M-B WIFI uses a narrower two-DIMM layout for compact builds. Both boards use a 6+2+1 phase power design with 60A SPS DrMOS and support DDR5 memory overclocking up to 8000 MT/s.
Expansion support includes a PCIe Gen5 x16 slot for graphics cards, a PCIe Gen4 x4 slot, and a PCIe Gen3 x1 slot. Storage is handled by two M.2 slots, with one supporting PCIe Gen5 x4 and the other PCIe Gen4 x4. The boards also include two SATA III 6Gbps ports.
Maxsun has equipped both Challenger models with Realtek ALC897 audio, 2.5GbE LAN, and Wi-Fi 6. A front-panel USB-C connector supports bandwidth of up to 20Gbps, while distributed debug LEDs provide additional hardware troubleshooting support.
The three new Maxsun B850 motherboards are aimed at builders who want the features of the AMD B850 platform without moving to a full-size ATX board. The different DIMM layouts also give users more flexibility when choosing between a conventional Micro-ATX gaming PC and a smaller system.
