AOOSTAR is joining the growing wave of high-end mini PCs built around AMD’s latest Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor. The company has teased its upcoming NEX495S, a compact AI workstation that will pair the 16-core Zen 5 chip with up to 192GB of LPDDR5X unified memory, putting it among the most memory-heavy mini PCs announced so far.
The NEX495S is based on AMD’s Gorgon Halo platform, with the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 offering 16 CPU cores and 32 threads, boost clocks of up to 5.2 GHz, and a Radeon 8065S integrated GPU with 40 graphics cores. AMD rates the processor for up to 131 AI TOPS, while the chip supports up to 192GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory.
For AOOSTAR, the large memory capacity is one of the key features of the NEX495S. The previous generation of Strix Halo-based systems generally topped out at 128GB, while the new platform raises that ceiling to 192GB. Because the CPU and integrated GPU share the same memory pool, a large portion of that capacity can also be assigned to graphics workloads. AOOSTAR’s teaser indicates that the NEX495S could allocate close to 160GB as video memory, giving local AI applications considerably more room for large models.

This makes the NEX495S particularly interesting for users running local large language models, AI development tools, virtualization, and other memory-intensive workloads. Recent Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 systems have also been promoted for running very large local models, with some configurations targeting models around the 300-billion-parameter range.
AOOSTAR has not yet revealed the complete specifications, pricing, storage options, connectivity, or release date. The teaser image shows a compact redesigned chassis, but there is not enough information yet to confirm the exact port configuration. Given the hardware used in competing Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 mini PCs, USB4, high-speed networking, Wi-Fi 7, and multiple storage options would make sense, although those features should not be treated as confirmed until AOOSTAR provides more details.
The NEX495S arrives as several manufacturers are moving toward Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 systems. Minisforum, ACEMAGIC, GMKtec, CHUWI, and other vendors have already introduced or previewed products using AMD’s latest high-memory APU platform.
