Wildlight Entertainment, the studio behind the free-to-play raid shooter Highguard, has announced its first content update following recent layoffs. The update, set to arrive this week, comes after a challenging launch period and mixed reception, offering players new gameplay features, bug fixes, and additional content. Among the additions, the most notable is the new base, Cloudreach, an airship structure with an anchored stone target located inside the ship. The base allows for varied combat scenarios, ranging from long-range sniper engagements on open decks to intense close-quarters fights in narrow corridors.

Alongside Cloudreach, the update introduces the Lockpick, a Raid tool designed to give players tactical options for opening or temporarily disabling doors and windows. The Lockpick uses a new Darts ammo type and can be equipped in the starting loadout or discovered in red chests during missions. These additions aim to provide more strategic depth to raids and encourage team coordination.

The update also brings cosmetic content to the store, including the Moonbruin Mount and the Wayfinder Bundle Series skins, which follow the steampunk Iron Vigil theme, complementing the new airship environment. Wildlight has indicated that further updates are already in development, promising a new game mode centered on raid experiences and additional weapon balance adjustments. Despite the studio’s setbacks, this update signals ongoing support for Highguard and a focus on expanding gameplay options for the player community.
