Thrustmaster has expanded its flight simulation lineup with the launch of the T.Flight Hotas 5 Microsoft Flight Simulator Edition, a new HOTAS controller designed for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC users. Developed in partnership with Microsoft, the controller is designed to provide a more immersive flying experience for players exploring Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and other flight-based games.

The new model arrives with official Microsoft Flight Simulator branding, featuring the franchise’s familiar white, blue, and black color scheme. It also incorporates PlayStation 5 controller inputs, allowing console players to transition from a standard controller to a dedicated flight control setup with minimal adjustment.
Thrustmaster says the T.Flight Hotas 5 has been built with flexibility in mind. Users can customize the joystick’s resistance and adjust the position of the throttle and control lever to suit their preferred flying style. The controller supports Plug & Play functionality and is automatically detected on Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs, as well as PS5 and PS4 systems.

The flight stick and throttle combination includes a variety of controls designed to support different types of aircraft and simulation experiences. Whether players are flying commercial airliners, military jets, helicopters, or spacecraft, the controller offers dedicated inputs for a wide range of maneuvers.
Key features of the T.Flight Hotas 5 Microsoft Flight Simulator Edition include:
- Official Microsoft Flight Simulator licensed design
- Compatible with PS5, PS4, Windows 10, and Windows 11
- Adjustable joystick resistance for personalized control
- Detachable throttle for desktop and couch gaming setups
- 14 action buttons and a rapid-fire trigger
- Multidirectional hat switch for navigation and camera control
- Five axes with 16-bit precision, including Z-axis support
- Dual rudder control through stick rotation or tilting lever
- Weighted base for improved stability
- Compatibility with Thrustmaster TFRP rudder pedals
One of the main highlights is the detachable throttle system. Players can keep the throttle attached to the joystick for casual gaming sessions or separate the two units to create a cockpit-like desktop setup. The weighted base is designed to keep the controller stable during longer flights and demanding maneuvers.

The dual rudder system offers additional flexibility by allowing aircraft yaw control through either joystick rotation or the integrated progressive tilting lever. This gives pilots multiple control options depending on their comfort level and the type of aircraft being flown.
Thrustmaster has also focused on long-session comfort by including a wide hand rest, ergonomic button placement, and adjustable resistance settings. The company notes that the controller is suitable for both beginners entering the world of flight simulation and experienced virtual pilots looking for a dedicated HOTAS solution.

The Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas 5 Microsoft Flight Simulator Edition is available starting June 12 with a suggested retail price of $109.99 in the United States, €99.99 across Europe, and £89.99 in the United Kingdom.
