The RPCS3 development team has announced another milestone for the open-source PlayStation 3 Emulator, confirming that it can now fully run 75% of the console’s entire game library. The update was shared through the project’s official X account, while the latest figures are also reflected on the emulator’s compatibility database. Available for Linux, macOS, and Windows, RPCS3 continues to improve support for Sony’s seventh-generation console, bringing more classic PlayStation 3 titles to modern PC hardware.
According to the official compatibility list, 2,681 out of 3,559 released PlayStation 3 games are now classified as Playable, meaning they can be completed from beginning to end without game-breaking issues. Reaching the 75% mark is another important achievement for the emulator, which has been under active development for years with contributions from developers and community testers.
The latest compatibility statistics show that nearly every PlayStation 3 title can at least launch in some form. Even more impressive is the fact that no games remain in the Nothing category, meaning there are currently no known titles that completely fail to boot. Only 0.06% of the PS3 library is listed as Loadable, where games initialize but display only a black screen before gameplay begins.
The remaining unsupported titles continue to shrink as development progresses. Around 1.69% of games are rated Ingame, allowing players to reach gameplay but preventing completion due to crashes, missing features, or other technical issues. Another 22.93% of the library can be launched and played to some extent but still suffers from performance problems or game-breaking bugs that keep them from earning the Playable rating.
Current compatibility breakdown includes:
- Playable: 75.33% (2,681 games)
- Games playable from start to finish
- In-game: 1.69%
- Loadable: 0.06%
- Nothing: 0%

Despite the growing compatibility list, several well-known PlayStation 3 games still require additional work before they become fully playable. Grand Theft Auto IV remains in the Ingame category, while Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed III, and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag have yet to achieve full compatibility. Meanwhile, Battlefield 1943 is still listed under the Intro category, indicating that it cannot progress beyond its opening sequence.
RPCS3 has become the leading PlayStation 3 emulator thanks to continuous improvements in performance, graphics rendering, and game compatibility. Every milestone reflects years of development and testing by both the core team and the community. While there is still work to be done for some high-profile titles, the latest compatibility figures show that the majority of the PlayStation 3 library is already accessible on modern PCs, making RPCS3 one of the most mature console emulation projects available today.
