Rockstar Releases Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 2 Focused on Jason Duval

Rockstar Games has officially released the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, bringing the spotlight to Jason Duval, the male protagonist in what appears to be a narrative centered on crime, loyalty, and survival. The new footage offers a deeper look into the character dynamics of Jason and Lucia Caminos, who were first introduced in the debut trailer released in December 2023. While that initial trailer leaned heavily on Lucia’s backstory, the latest one balances the scale by shedding more light on Jason’s motivations and personal history.

The trailer retains the signature tone of the GTA franchise, mixing high-octane action sequences with quick glimpses of a diverse cast of supporting characters. Viewers are treated to car chases, chaotic street scenes, and explosive moments—all backed by the series’ familiar satirical edge. The duo of Jason and Lucia, seemingly inspired by the Bonnie and Clyde archetype, forms the emotional core of the story, and their partnership appears central to the unfolding events in the fictional state of Leonida.

According to the brief description posted alongside the trailer on YouTube, the story kicks off with a botched robbery that places Jason and Lucia in the middle of a sprawling conspiracy. The description reads: “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America.”

Alongside the trailer, Rockstar launched the official GTA VI website, which has reportedly crashed under heavy traffic shortly after going live. The company also distributed press materials revealing more details about the game’s primary characters and its setting, which includes several new and returning locations.

Jason’s background paints him as someone shaped by a troubled past. Raised among criminals and having served in the military, he later finds himself back in familiar territory, working with drug runners in the Keys. His connection with Lucia seems to mark a turning point in his life, but the outcome of their partnership remains uncertain.

Lucia, on the other hand, has survived a tough upbringing and time in prison. Determined to rewrite her future, she’s no longer willing to leave her fate to chance. Her vision of a better life, inspired by dreams passed down from her mother, pushes her to take bold steps, and Jason may be both her partner and her escape plan.

The game’s world stretches far beyond Vice City. Players can expect to explore varied locales, including Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, Tisha-Wocka, and VC Port. Other areas include the remote Leonida Keys, the expansive Grassrivers, the industrial Ambrosia, the rugged Mount Kalaga, and the coastal zone of Port Gellhorn. Rockstar promises that each region will offer its own identity, culture, and challenges.

Grand Theft Auto VI was originally slated for an earlier release but has now been officially delayed to May 26, 2026. With just over a year remaining until launch, Rockstar appears to be ramping up its promotional campaign, slowly revealing more about what is shaping up to be its most ambitious open-world title to date.
