Patriot Memory has announced the launch of its latest high-performance storage solution, the PV593 PCIe Gen 5 x4 M.2 2280 SSD. Designed for heavy workloads and demanding applications, the PV593 offers sequential read speeds of up to 14,000 MB/s and write speeds of up to 13,000 MB/s, making it one of the fastest drives currently available.
The new SSD is powered by Silicon Motion’s SM2508 controller, which is manufactured using TSMC’s 6 nm process. This advanced controller enables the drive to handle tasks such as 4K and 8K video editing, large file transfers, AAA gaming, and intensive multitasking with improved efficiency. Compared to PCIe Gen 4 drives, the PV593 nearly doubles performance, while delivering more than four times the speed of PCIe Gen 3 models.
To further improve system responsiveness, Patriot has included DRAM cache and dynamic SLC caching. These features help lower latency, speed up system boot times, and enhance application launch performance. The PV593 is also capable of reaching 4K random read speeds of up to 2,000,000 IOPS and 4K random write speeds of up to 1,650,000 IOPS, providing quick access to smaller data blocks even during heavy workloads.
The drive uses a standard M.2 2280 form factor, ensuring compatibility with a broad range of motherboards and systems. While designed for PCIe Gen 5 platforms, it maintains support for PCIe Gen 4.0 and Gen 3.0, allowing users to upgrade older systems and still see significant performance gains. Available capacities include 1 TB, 2 TB, and 4 TB, covering a variety of storage needs from gaming libraries to professional media projects.
Patriot highlights the PV593’s ability to sustain performance under prolonged use. The SM2508 controller includes intelligent power and thermal management technologies to prevent throttling during demanding operations. A 5-year limited warranty backs the SSD, giving users confidence in its reliability for long-term use.
