MSI Introduces PortalX: A Browser-Based RGB Lighting Control Platform

MSI announced last Friday that it will launch a new web-based RGB lighting control platform called PortalX. The platform will allow users to manage RGB lighting settings directly through a web browser, without the need to install any software on their computer.

With PortalX, users can access the RGB Center page after connecting to the platform. It will automatically detect all compatible MSI devices in the system. Once detected, users can select each device and adjust the lighting settings such as brightness and speed for each RGB port. The platform also includes a feature that lets users synchronize lighting effects across all connected devices with one click.

MSI says the goal of PortalX is to offer a more convenient and flexible way to manage lighting, especially for users who prefer not to install additional software. Because it runs in a browser, PortalX can be used on different systems without compatibility issues or the need for software updates.

The interface of PortalX is designed to be simple, showing all detected devices and their available lighting options. This includes control over individual ports and settings for lighting speed and brightness. Users can also apply synchronized lighting profiles, making it easier to create a consistent lighting setup across multiple MSI components.

PortalX will work with a wide range of MSI products that support RGB lighting, such as motherboards, graphics cards, AIO coolers, and other peripherals. MSI has not confirmed an exact release date but has stated that the service will be available soon.

This new platform follows a growing trend of moving hardware control functions to browser-based systems. By removing the need for dedicated applications, companies can provide easier access and reduce installation steps for users. PortalX is one example of how RGB control is being made more accessible to a wider range of users.

More information about supported devices, browser compatibility, and availability is expected to be shared by MSI in the near future through its official website and product pages. For now, users interested in managing their lighting setup through a browser-based platform can look forward to the release of PortalX.
