Maxtang Launches MUC-FP551 Embedded Mini PC With AMD Ryzen Picasso APUs

Maxtang has announced the MUC-FP551, a new embedded mini PC powered by AMD’s “Picasso” APUs based on the Zen+ CPU architecture. The compact system is aimed at embedded computing, industrial applications, digital signage, edge deployments, and office environments where space-saving hardware is preferred without giving up expansion options.

The MUC-FP551 is available with multiple processor configurations, allowing buyers to select hardware that matches their performance and power requirements. The available options include the AMD Ryzen 7 3700U, Ryzen 5 3500U, Ryzen Embedded R2314, and Ryzen Embedded R2514. These processors combine Zen+ CPU cores with integrated Radeon graphics, making the system suitable for everyday computing, multimedia workloads, and commercial deployments.

Despite its compact design, the mini PC offers room for memory and storage upgrades. It features two DDR4 SO-DIMM slots for dual-channel memory configurations, while storage expansion is supported through both M.2 2280 and M.2 2242 slots for solid-state drives. An additional M.2 2230 slot is available for installing a wireless networking module.

The system measures 112.4 × 112.4 × 35.5 mm and operates using a 19V DC power supply. Maxtang rates the operating temperature between 0°C and 50°C, while the platform supports a configurable thermal design power (TDP) ranging from 15W to 35W, allowing system builders to balance performance with cooling requirements.

Connectivity is another area where the MUC-FP551 offers a wide selection of ports. The front panel provides high-speed USB connectivity for external devices, while the rear includes multiple display outputs and additional USB ports for peripherals.

Key specifications of the Maxtang MUC-FP551 include:
