GTA 6 Extended Look Gives Players a Closer Look at Jason, Lucia, Combat, and Vice City

Rockstar Games has offered its most detailed look yet at Grand Theft Auto VI, with a new extended gameplay presentation showing several systems planned for the upcoming open-world game. The footage puts the focus on combat, vehicle theft, gym activities, character switching, vehicle damage, and the wider world surrounding Vice City and the fictional state of Leonida. GTA 6 is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The extended look gives players a clearer idea of how Jason and Lucia will operate during gameplay. The two protagonists can be played separately, but the character-switching system also allows them to be used together in certain situations. Reports surrounding the presentation indicate that switching between Jason and Lucia will play a larger role in GTA 6 than the three-character system used in Grand Theft Auto V.

Combat is another area that received attention in the new footage. The presentation showed gunfights, physical confrontations, and more detailed reactions from NPCs. Vehicle interactions also appear to be expanding, with electronic carjacking shown alongside more extensive damage during crashes and other encounters. These changes could give players more options when stealing vehicles and escaping police or other threats.

The footage also showed Jason and Lucia taking part in gym activities. Earlier reports had pointed to systems involving exercise, diet, fatigue, and physical changes, and the latest gameplay presentation appears to support the idea that character condition will have a larger role in GTA 6. The mechanic brings back elements that many players will associate with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, although Rockstar appears to be building the system around the game’s two protagonists.

Key details shown or discussed during the GTA 6 extended gameplay reveal include:

  • New combat sequences and NPC injury reactions
  • Electronic carjacking mechanics
  • Expanded vehicle damage and destruction
  • Gym and exercise activities for Jason and Lucia
  • Character switching between the two protagonists
  • Gameplay where Jason and Lucia can operate together or separately
  • More locations and activities across Vice City and Leonida
  • Police chases, shootouts, driving, and open-world activities

The extended presentation also spends time showing more of GTA 6’s setting. Leonida serves as the game’s fictional state, while Vice City returns as one of its central locations. The new footage includes city environments, driving sequences, water-based activities, and other open-world moments, giving players a broader look at what they can expect outside the main story.

For Rockstar, the latest presentation is an important step ahead of GTA 6’s November release. Much of the game’s marketing so far has focused on trailers, screenshots, and short glimpses of Jason and Lucia, while this extended look spends more time on the systems behind the experience.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to arrive on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Rockstar has not confirmed a PC release date as part of the current launch plans.
