Epomaker has introduced the HE65 V2 TMR, a new compact gaming keyboard featuring Tunnel Magnetoresistive (TMR) switch technology. The keyboard is now available in Black and White color options through the company’s online store and Amazon for $99.99. Designed for gamers and keyboard enthusiasts, the HE65 V2 TMR combines magnetic switch technology with support for traditional mechanical switches, giving users more flexibility without replacing the keyboard.
The new model adopts a 65% layout, offering 66 keys and a multifunction rotary knob in a compact footprint. This layout removes the numpad while retaining dedicated arrow keys, making it suitable for users who want to save desk space while maintaining access to commonly used controls. The keyboard features an ABS plastic case with a gasket-mounted structure, which is designed to provide a softer typing feel while reducing vibration during use.
The HE65 V2 TMR includes a hot-swappable PCB that supports both TMR magnetic switches and standard mechanical contact switches. This allows users to change switch types without soldering, making future upgrades or replacements easier.
Inside the keyboard, Epomaker uses an FR4 mounting plate along with a four-layer sound-dampening design. The internal layers include latex foam, IXPE switch pads, EPDM bottom foam, and silicone padding to help reduce typing noise and improve acoustics. The keyboard also uses south-facing RGB LEDs, offering better compatibility with a wider range of aftermarket keycap sets.
The HE65 V2 TMR comes equipped with Cloud Jade magnetic switches. These switches offer 3.5±0.1mm total travel, 35gf initial actuation force, and 55gf bottom-out force. According to Epomaker, the switches support 0.001mm precision, allowing users to fine-tune actuation settings for different gaming genres. The keyboard also supports an 8,000Hz polling rate and a 64,000Hz scan rate, reducing input latency and improving response times during competitive gameplay.
Epomaker includes Cherry-profile matte PC keycaps with the keyboard, aiming to provide durability and a familiar typing experience. Power is supplied by a 4,000mAh rechargeable battery, allowing the keyboard to be used wirelessly for extended periods between charges. The keyboard measures 21.5mm at the front and 43.2mm at the rear, providing a relatively low front height that may improve wrist comfort during long gaming or typing sessions.
