CODE VEIN II Reveals New Enemies, Story Details, and January 30, 2026 Release Date

Bandai Namco has released new information on CODE VEIN II, highlighting enemy characters, story elements, and confirming its launch date. The action RPG is scheduled to release on January 30, 2026, continuing the series’ dark setting shaped by the coexistence of humans and Revenants.

Franz the Dejected Assailant was once the leader of the bandits responsible for the attack on the MagMell Forma Institute a century ago. Historical records state that he was killed during the assault, alongside Noah, the institute’s defender. In CODE VEIN II, Franz re-emerges as a twisted entity who has long since sacrificed his sanity. Even in this altered state, his bayonet-focused combat style remains unchanged, making him a formidable presence in battle.

The game takes place in a future where the arrival of Luna Rapacis has caused Revenants to lose control, turning them into creatures known as Horrors. Players assume the role of a Revenant hunter attempting to slow the world’s collapse. A central mechanic involves traveling to the past with Lou, a character capable of manipulating time, allowing players to uncover events that connect different eras.

Several new enemies have also been introduced. The Blind Resurgence Offspring, sealed within a Cocoon, has lost both eyes and relies on sound and presence to locate targets. Its wide-reaching greatsword attacks pose a serious risk at close range. Another enemy, the Retainer of Idris, is a massive construct created by the Progenitor Revenant Idris. Covered in hardened skin and equipped with multiple tentacles, it attacks any perceived threat, though its purpose remains unclear in the current timeline.

Additional Resurgence Offspring include the Witch, which combines scythe attacks with complex magic-based formae, and the Minotaur, a heavily armored enemy wielding a hammer and shield. The Minotaur’s explosive charge attacks require careful timing and positioning to counter effectively.

CODE VEIN II is set to release on January 30, 2026, with pre-orders now available under the theme “Bound By Blood.”
