PLAION REPLAI and Atari have announced the launch of the Atari 2600+ PAC-MAN Edition, a refreshed version of the classic home console. The updated hardware will be released worldwide on October 31, 2025, continuing Atari’s collaboration with Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc., the original developer of PAC-MAN.
The new console is finished in PAC-MAN’s signature yellow and features illuminated character icons on the front panel. Each unit comes bundled with a PAC-MAN Double Feature cartridge and a yellow PAC-MAN CX-40 Wireless Joystick. Pre-orders open on July 23, 2025, through Amazon and Atari’s official website at a price of £129.99.

The included PAC-MAN Double Feature cartridge brings together two titles. PAC-MAN 7800 offers a new arcade-style experience, while PAC-MAN 2600 revisits the first home console release of the game. Alongside the console, a series of PAC-MAN-themed CX40+ Wireless Joysticks will also be available separately in five colors: Yellow (PAC-MAN), Blue (Inky), Red (Blinky), Pink (Pinky), and Orange (Clyde). Each joystick is priced at £29.99 and will be available for pre-order starting the same day as the console.
“The Atari 2600+ PAC-MAN Edition is more than just a console. It’s a tribute to the moment home gaming truly began,” said Ben Jones, Commercial Director at PLAION REPLAI. “By reimagining the hardware in PAC-MAN’s style, we’re celebrating two icons that shaped a generation of play.”

Atari confirmed that the PAC-MAN Double Feature cartridge will also be released separately later in 2025. With this launch, the company aims to cater to both long-time fans and newcomers interested in retro gaming.
The Atari 2600+ PAC-MAN Edition and the CX40+ Wireless Joysticks are scheduled to release on October 31, 2025. Pre-orders will begin on July 23, 2025, at Amazon and Atari.com.
