AION 2 Confirmed for Global PC Launch on Steam and PURPLE Later This Year

NC America has confirmed that AION 2 will launch globally on PC later this year, bringing the next chapter of the franchise to a wider audience. The game is scheduled to release on Steam and PURPLE, with a version designed specifically for PC players outside its original regions. Scale defines AION 2. The upcoming title introduces a world claimed to be 36 times larger than the original, built to support wider exploration without artificial boundaries. Movement flows naturally across regions, encouraging players to traverse expansive landscapes without disruption.

Flight continues to play a central role, giving players the freedom to navigate vast zones, engage in aerial combat, and seamlessly shift into underwater exploration. This constant mobility changes how players approach traversal and combat, keeping the experience fluid across different terrains. The same design philosophy extends into both PvE and PvP, where the environment itself shapes encounters. Whether in the air, on land, or beneath the surface, battles unfold dynamically, influenced by the scale and verticality of the world.

For the global rollout, NC America is setting up region-based servers in North America, South America, Europe, and Japan. The game will also support ten languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. This setup aims to improve latency and accessibility for players across multiple regions.

The combat system in AION 2 builds on tab-targeting mechanics but introduces faster pacing, where timing, positioning, and movement play a larger role in battles. PvE content includes solo activities, four-player dungeons, and eight-player raids that focus on coordination and mechanical awareness. On the PvP side, players can take part in 1v1 duels, 4v4 matches, and large-scale Realm vs Realm battles, along with the return of the Abyss system, which was a defining feature of the original game.

The story takes place 200 years after the events of AION, following the destruction of the Tower of Eternity. The Elyos and Asmodian factions return in a changed world, now facing a renewed Balaur threat. Alongside this narrative shift, players will have access to eight classes and a wide range of customization options, with more than 200 adjustable features.

Players can now wishlist AION 2 on Steam, while the development team plans to share more details in May, including updates based on community feedback and early impressions.
