AI and Digital Technology Drive Transformative Innovation in Education of Malaysia

Datuk Tee Siew Kiong, Chairman of the Malaysia Digital Economy Foundation, emphasized that the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology is leading to a transformative revolution in the education sector. This shift is particularly significant in addressing teacher shortages and introducing innovative teaching methodologies.

Tee Siew Kiong (second from left) witnessed the signing of a cooperation framework agreement between Dr. Chen Zhicheng (left) of Victory AI Academy in California, USA, and Dr. Liu Yanbing (right), Chairman of China’s Jiuxuewang Intelligent Education Group.

Tee highlighted that traditional education systems are undergoing major changes and require rapid adaptation. He urged all stakeholders—including government bodies, the Ministry of Education, educational organizations, schools, and students—to prepare for the challenges posed by new educational models, moving beyond conventional thinking and practices.

He noted that the evolution from traditional education to private and international schools has now progressed to an era where AI and digital technology are integral. The application of these technologies can make learning more engaging and, to some extent, replace traditional face-to-face teaching.

While acknowledging the employment challenges this may pose for teachers, Tee pointed out that it also offers effective solutions to the long-standing issue of teacher shortages. Balancing these aspects will be a new trend to navigate.

Tee also emphasized that technological advancements allow students to access courses from top global universities, such as Harvard and Stanford, from their homes, breaking geographical barriers and ushering in a new era of global education.

He believes that deeply integrating education with AI and digital technology can cultivate future talents with international perspectives, expand students’ cognitive boundaries and learning abilities, and play a crucial role in national development.

During a recent luncheon with educational leaders from Malaysia, China, the United States, and Taiwan, Tee witnessed the signing of a cooperation framework agreement between Mr. Liu Yanbing, Chairman of China’s Jiuxuewang Intelligent Education Group, and Dr. Chen Zhicheng from California’s Victory AI Academy. This partnership marks the official implementation of the project in Malaysia.
