Grand Theft Auto VI Pre-Load Begins November 10, Rockstar Confirms Downloads Require 212GB

Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) will become available for pre-loading on November 10, giving players more than a week to download the game before its official November 19 launch. The pre-load schedule covers both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, although the start times will differ between the two platforms. According to Rockstar’s announcement, PlayStation 5 players can begin downloading GTA 6 at midnight local time on November 10. Xbox Series X|S owners will receive access to the pre-load at 12 a.m. GMT on the same date, with the schedule applying globally. Physical code-in-box versions of the game are also expected to reach retailers starting November 12.

The download will require up to 212GB of available storage, depending on the console. Rockstar has advised players to ensure they have enough free space before the pre-loading window opens. With the game requiring such a large amount of storage, players with limited console capacity may need to remove older games or other files before downloading it.

Rockstar stated, “The pre-load file will require up to 212 GB depending on your device, so make sure you’ve got ample space to begin pre-loading as soon as possible.”

Players can find additional instructions for downloading the game through the official Rockstar Support website. The company has also updated the GTA 6 official website with information about the game’s setting, official videos, in-game radio station previews, music from Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, and details about the Ultimate Edition.

Rockstar is also preparing additional digital and physical content for the launch. On November 19, the company will make a printable GTA 6 cover art poster and a map of Leonida available as free downloads through its official website. A physical, double-sided version of the poster will arrive at the Rockstar Store shortly after launch, priced at $0.99 when purchased separately. It will also be included as a gift with any purchase from the store.

With GTA 6 launching on November 19, players can start preparing their PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles from November 10, ensuring the 212GB download is ready ahead of release.
