REDMAGIC 12 Pro Launches Globally With 185Hz OLED Display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, and 8,400mAh Battery

REDMAGIC has officially announced the global launch of the REDMAGIC 12 Pro, its latest flagship gaming smartphone featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, an 185Hz OLED display, and an 8,400mAh battery. The new model introduces several hardware upgrades over the previous generation, including an improved liquid cooling system, a higher-capacity battery, wireless charging, and a redesigned chassis. REDMAGIC is also introducing a full-screen design with an under-display front camera, allowing the display to extend across the front without a visible punch-hole cutout.

The REDMAGIC 12 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, manufactured using a 2nm process with CPU clock speeds reaching up to 5GHz. It is paired with REDMAGIC’s dedicated RedCore R5 gaming chip and G1 high-refresh-rate display control chip.

These additional processors handle gaming-related tasks such as touch optimization, lighting control, rendering acceleration, super-resolution, and frame generation. The combination is designed to improve input response and maintain smooth gameplay in demanding mobile titles.

The smartphone features a 6.85-inch 1.5K BOE X11 OLED display with an 185Hz refresh rate. REDMAGIC describes it as an industry-first 185Hz under-display true full-screen panel. Developed with BOE, the ninth-generation under-display camera keeps the front display free from visible cutouts, while the bezels measure just 0.96mm.

The panel supports up to 1,900 nits of global peak brightness and 5,000 nits of local peak brightness. Its Synaptics touch controller offers an instantaneous touch sampling rate of up to 5,000Hz and an average sampling rate of 500Hz. Wet-hand touch support is also included for improved usability when the screen or the user’s fingers are damp.

Cooling is another major area of improvement. The REDMAGIC 12 Pro introduces AquaCore Cooling System 3.0, which combines dual-loop liquid cooling, a 25,500 RPM turbo fan, an upgraded vapor chamber, and Liquid Metal 4.0. Its dual-crystal micro-pump delivers up to 130kPa of output pressure, representing an 85% increase over the previous generation, while consuming as little as 20mW. The redesigned vapor chamber increases the effective cooling area by 15% and thermal conductivity by 50%. REDMAGIC has also reinforced the fan shaft to improve durability by 30%, while the liquid cooling system now includes RGB lighting.

Despite the larger battery, the phone measures 8.5mm thick, compared with 8.9mm on the REDMAGIC 11 Pro. Its 8,400mAh battery offers a 12% capacity increase over the previous model’s 7,500mAh unit. Charging options include 80W wired fast charging, wireless charging, and bypass charging. The latter supplies power directly to the phone while reducing battery charging activity, helping manage heat during extended gaming sessions.

REDMAGIC has retained its transparent gaming design, with RGB lighting and a camera-bump-free rear panel. The device carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water protection, while the cooling fan area has a separate IPX8 rating. Its camera system includes a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 16MP front camera.

Additional hardware includes dual symmetrical 1115E speaker chambers with Dolby Atmos certification, 520Hz shoulder triggers, an 0815 X-axis linear motor, and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7, USB 3.2 Gen 2, NFC, dual-SIM support, and a 360-degree omnidirectional antenna system. The phone also includes an infrared blaster for controlling compatible household appliances.

On the software side, the REDMAGIC 12 Pro runs REDMAGIC OS 12 based on Android 17. The X-Gravity gaming center introduces several AI-powered tools, including Gaming AI, Tactical Coach, and Low-Engagement Play. These features provide gameplay suggestions, strategic guidance, and reminders for daily and weekly in-game activities. Supported titles include Mobile Legends, Genshin Impact, and Honkai: Star Rail, depending on regional availability and software compatibility. The device also supports PC game emulation through local game imports, Steam gaming access through X-Gravity, and streaming from compatible PCs and consoles. Google Gemini integration brings Circle to Search, real-time translation, AI photo search, and image editing.

The same prices apply to both available colors where the configuration is offered. REDMAGIC also lists separate pricing for remaining markets: $899, $999, and $1,199, respectively.

The REDMAGIC 12 Pro will be available in Transparent Black under the Nightfreeze name and Transparent Silver under the Subzero name. Pricing starts at $949 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration in North America. The 16GB RAM and 512GB model costs $1,049, while the 16GB RAM and 1TB version is priced at $1,199. European pricing starts at €899, while UK customers will pay from £799.

The global launch takes place on November 3, 2026, with Early Bird Vouchers available from November 12 to November 17. Priority purchasing access begins on November 17, ahead of the global open sale on November 18. Customers participating in the Early Bird program will receive a complimentary 80W fast charger and an exclusive REDMAGIC-branded item. Sales will take place through REDMAGIC’s official regional websites and selected retail partners across North America, Europe, the UK, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Latin America.
