The Blood of Dawnwalker has already crossed a major sales milestone just days after launch. Rebel Wolves has confirmed that its debut RPG has sold more than 1 million copies worldwide in less than 48 hours, giving the studio a strong opening for its first game.
The game launched on September 3 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Rebel Wolves announced the sales figure through social media, but the studio has not revealed how those sales are divided between the three platforms. With the 1 million mark reached so quickly, launch-day and early-week sales appear to have played a major role in the result.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is a new open-world dark fantasy RPG set in 14th-century Europe. Players take control of Coen, a character who can exist as a human during the day and become a vampire at night. His objective is to rescue his family while dealing with a strict 30-day in-game deadline.
That time limit is one of the central elements of the game. Players must decide how to use their limited time as they explore the world, complete quests, fight enemies, and develop Coen’s abilities. His human and vampire forms also provide different approaches to combat and exploration, giving players more freedom in how they tackle situations.
The game has received additional attention because of the people behind Rebel Wolves. The studio was founded in 2022 and is led by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who previously worked as the game director on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The Blood of Dawnwalker is the team’s first commercial release, making its early sales particularly important for the newly established studio.

The launch has not been without technical problems. Players using Steam Deck and other Windows gaming handhelds have reported performance limitations, with hardware restrictions requiring compromises to graphics and performance. These issues have not prevented the game from reaching its first major sales target, although the handheld experience remains an area where future updates could make a difference.
Mod support has also become part of the early discussion around the game. One of the most downloaded mods on Nexus Mods reportedly conflicts with some of The Blood of Dawnwalker’s core survival mechanics. The situation highlights how quickly the PC community has started experimenting with the game’s systems.
For Rebel Wolves, crossing 1 million copies in under two days is an important early result. New franchises do not have the established audience of major series, making a seven-figure sales figure shortly after release a strong indicator of initial player interest.
The longer-term performance of The Blood of Dawnwalker will depend on how well the game maintains its audience after the launch period. For now, however, Rebel Wolves has given its first RPG a very solid opening, with more than 1 million copies already sold across PC and current-generation consoles.
