Capcom has officially released the previously announced “Leon Must Die Forever” combat minigame for Resident Evil Requiem, bringing a new replay-focused experience to players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The update is now available as a free download and arrives shortly after the publisher teased the mode in late April.
The new DLC shifts away from the slower pace of the main campaign and focuses on fast combat encounters against large groups of infected enemies. Players once again take control of Leon and must clear multiple stages before facing a final boss battle. The mode also introduces roguelite-inspired systems, including permadeath mechanics and unlockable upgrades that carry over between runs.
Capcom appears to have taken inspiration from the recent popularity of bullet hell roguelite titles on Steam. Even the name “Leon Must Die Forever” seems to reference games such as Death Must Die, which combine survival mechanics with repeated progression-based runs.

According to the update details, the minigame becomes available only after players complete Resident Evil Requiem’s main story. Once unlocked, players can access multiple difficulty settings along with timed combat challenges that encourage replayability. Each run requires players to clear stages quickly while managing enemy pressure and resource usage.
To help players progress further, the mode includes enhancer abilities that unlock gradually through gameplay. These upgrades improve combat efficiency and can provide different advantages during future attempts, giving players a reason to continue replaying stages.

Alongside the new content, Capcom has also included several technical additions and bug fixes in the latest patch. PC players using Sony’s DualSense Wireless Controller on Steam can now use Adaptive Triggers, vibration feedback, and motion sensing support. The update also addresses gameplay-related issues reported by the community since launch.
Resident Evil Requiem continues to receive post-launch support from Capcom, and the addition of Leon Must Die Forever adds another gameplay mode aimed at extending the game’s long-term replay value across all platforms.
