Lenovo’s gaming handheld lineup may soon expand beyond the Legion Go series, as a smaller retro-focused handheld called the Lenovo G02 has surfaced online through multiple marketplace listings and early hands-on coverage.
Until now, Lenovo’s handheld gaming efforts have largely focused on x86-based devices, including the Legion Go, Legion Go S, and the upcoming Legion Go 2. Those systems target PC gamers with larger displays, Windows support, and hardware capable of running modern AAA titles. The newly discovered Lenovo G02 appears to take a completely different direction by focusing on retro gaming and Linux-based emulation.

The device was recently highlighted by Retro Gaming with Deadfred, which reportedly confirmed that the handheld boots with a Lenovo startup screen and includes Lenovo branding across its retail packaging. Despite this, the G02 has not yet appeared on Lenovo’s official websites, raising questions about whether the handheld is intended for select regional markets or distributed through manufacturing partners.
Based on currently available information, the Lenovo G02 features a 4.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1,024 x 768 and a 4:3 aspect ratio. This screen format remains popular among retro gaming enthusiasts since many classic arcade, console, and handheld titles were originally designed around 4:3 displays rather than modern widescreen formats.

Inside, the handheld is powered by the Rockchip RK3326 processor, a chipset commonly used in entry-level retro gaming handhelds. While the RK3326 is not designed for demanding PC gaming workloads, it is widely used in emulation systems that efficiently run classic consoles and older gaming libraries.
The Lenovo G02 also includes a 4,000 mAh battery and a microSD card slot with support for storage expansion up to 1 TB. The device measures 171 x 121 x 48 mm, placing it among the more compact handhelds currently available in the retro gaming segment.
In terms of design, the handheld includes a single analog stick and a d-pad surrounded by RGB lighting. The styling is similar to devices such as the Anbernic RG40XX V, which also targets retro gaming users looking for portable Linux-based handheld systems.

Multiple listings for the Lenovo G02 have already appeared across Alibaba and AliExpress. Pricing currently starts at around $40 on Alibaba and approximately $55 on AliExpress before discounts and promotional offers.
At the moment, Lenovo has not officially announced the G02 or confirmed its availability in global markets. Still, the presence of Lenovo branding and retail packaging suggests the company may be exploring the growing budget retro-gaming handheld market alongside its premium Legion Go lineup.
