AULA Introduces F99 Max Tri-Mode Mechanical Keyboard with Smart Display and Large Battery

AULA has expanded its keyboard lineup with the launch of the F99 Max series, introducing a compact layout paired with features usually found in higher-end models. The keyboard adopts a 97-key layout, which keeps most of the functionality of a full-size board while reducing overall footprint. A smart display is integrated into the design, positioned alongside a multi-function media knob in the upper-right corner, allowing users to manage settings and media playback without relying on software controls.

The F99 Max offers tri-mode functionality, allowing it to operate via wired USB, Bluetooth, or 2.4GHz wireless. This flexibility makes it suitable for users who alternate between multiple devices, whether for productivity tasks or gaming sessions. Switching between modes is designed to be seamless, reducing interruptions during use. Powering the keyboard is an 8000mAh battery, which sits above the typical capacity found in this category. This larger battery is intended to support longer usage periods without frequent recharging, particularly beneficial for wireless operation across extended sessions.

AULA has also integrated an NTC temperature control system, which helps monitor battery conditions during charging and prolonged use. This addition focuses on maintaining stable performance while keeping thermal behavior in check over time.

The internal construction focuses on typing comfort and durability. AULA is using a five-layer gasket structure designed to reduce vibrations and create a more consistent typing feel. The keyboard is built around a 1.2mm single-key slotted PCB that supports hot-swappable switches, giving users the option to change switches without soldering. A slotted PC mounting plate is also part of the design, contributing to a softer and slightly cushioned keystroke.

For switches, AULA is offering multiple linear options, including LEOBOG Seiya, LEOBOG Reaper, SWK Whale Ocean, and TTC Flame Purple V2. These switches are aimed at users who prefer smooth keystrokes with minimal tactile resistance. The keyboard is paired with PBT keycaps, which are generally more resistant to shine and wear over time compared to ABS alternatives. RGB backlighting is included, with support for customizable lighting effects.

The F99 Max enters a competitive segment where features such as hot-swapping, wireless connectivity, and gasket-mounted designs are becoming more common. While AULA has not yet shared official pricing or release dates, the hardware configuration suggests it is positioned for users looking for a balance between functionality and build quality.
