No Man’s Sky Remnant Update 6.2 Adds Gravity Manipulation, Vehicle Customization, and Visual Upgrades

Hello Games has released Remnant, the latest free update for No Man’s Sky. The 6.2 patch expands the game’s sandbox with new gravity-based mechanics, deeper vehicle customization, additional industrial systems, and visual improvements to planetary atmospheres. The update is now available across all supported platforms.

Remnant introduces the Gravitino Coil, a new Multi-Tool upgrade that changes how players interact with objects in the world. Once installed, the device enables travelers to magnetize and lift environmental items, move them across short distances, and hurl them forward with significant force.

This addition shifts the way exploration and combat scenarios can unfold. Instead of relying solely on weapons or terrain manipulation tools, players can now use nearby objects to clear paths, reposition obstacles, or experiment with environmental physics. The system encourages more hands-on interaction with planetary surfaces, especially in dense or hazardous environments. The Gravitino Coil also has implications for base building and scavenging. Movable debris and objects can be repositioned, potentially offering new solutions when organizing settlements or managing space.

Remnant expands customization options for exocraft, giving players more flexibility over vehicle appearance and function. While customization has evolved gradually over the years, this update adds further adjustments that allow players to tailor their planetary vehicles to personal preference.

The patch also introduces industrial waste processing facilities, expanding the game’s settlement and infrastructure systems. These facilities tie into resource management loops, providing additional uses for materials and reinforcing long-term base development. Players invested in settlement growth will find new systems to integrate into their operations.

Beyond gameplay features, Hello Games has refined the game’s cloud rendering system. The update improves lighting behavior, reduces visual artifacts around cloud edges, and enhances overall performance. These upgrades are particularly noticeable during sunrise and sunset sequences, where lighting transitions now appear more natural. Performance optimizations aim to maintain stability across platforms while improving visual consistency in dynamic weather conditions.

The Remnant update arrives as No Man’s Sky nears its tenth anniversary. Since launch, Hello Games has delivered frequent updates every few months, steadily expanding the game’s systems and scope. Remnant continues that pattern, adding new mechanics while refining existing technology. As the anniversary year progresses, more updates are expected, further building on a title that has seen continuous development since release.
