Brook Gaming has announced the global availability of the Wingman P5, a new controller converter aimed at PlayStation users seeking broader controller compatibility across platforms. The device allows players to use controllers such as the Xbox Elite Series 2, PlayStation 4 controllers, and Nintendo Switch Pro controllers on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC using X-Input.
The Wingman P5 is designed to avoid Remote Play-based solutions that depend on network connections and additional setup. Instead, it uses Brook’s Direct Connection Technology, which links directly to console hardware. According to the company, this method reduces input delay and removes the need for LAN cables or network configuration, making it suitable for fast-paced games.
Brook states that the Wingman P5 supports the entire PS5 game library, addressing limitations seen in some adapters that only work with specific titles or legacy modes. Wireless operation is also supported without disabling core controller features. The converter maintains vibration, haptic feedback, and six-axis motion sensing, even when used wirelessly.
In terms of design, the Wingman P5 is compact and lightweight, weighing 11 grams and measuring 7.7 x 2.14 x 1.1 cm. Brook includes a USB-A to Type-C cable to improve compatibility with different console layouts and reduce port obstruction. The company also notes that the device is built to remain stable through system updates, drawing from its experience with competitive gaming hardware.
For customization, the Wingman P5 works with Brook’s Converter Center software on PC. This software allows users to adjust button mapping, turbo functions, and macros, offering additional control options for different game genres.
The Brook Wingman P5 is now available through global retailers and Amazon. The converter is priced at around US$75.
