Xiaomi is preparing to mark its 15th anniversary with a major product launch event on May 22, where it will officially unveil the new Xiaomi Tablet 7 Ultra. The device is expected to headline the event and represents a key part of the company’s latest strategic product line-up.
Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun confirmed that the Tablet 7 Ultra is the most powerful tablet the company has developed to date. The announcement comes as Xiaomi continues to expand its presence in the premium tablet segment.
Ahead of the launch, Xiaomi Group partner and president Lu Weibing shared a video showcasing the design of the Tablet 7 Ultra. The video revealed a sleek device with a minimalist back panel featuring a single rear camera. The camera module uses a matrix-style layout and includes the “XRING” branding, similar to what is seen on the Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone.
The Tablet 7 Ultra is powered by Xiaomi’s in-house Xuanjie O1 chipset, a 3nm flagship-level SoC according to the company. Lei Jun described it as a major milestone, highlighting its strong performance and ability to deliver a smooth user experience.
The tablet features a large 14-inch OLED display, making it one of the biggest screens in Xiaomi’s tablet lineup. The display is bordered by ultra-narrow bezels and includes a front camera housed within a notch at the top. Xiaomi has also focused on keeping the device lightweight and portable. The body of the Tablet 7 Ultra is just 5.1mm thick and weighs around 609 grams.
Battery life and charging capabilities are also a major focus. The Tablet 7 Ultra is equipped with a 12,000mAh battery, and Xiaomi says it supports 120W fast charging, allowing users to quickly top up the device.
The launch of the Tablet 7 Ultra signals Xiaomi’s continued push into developing high-end, large-screen tablets, a category that has seen renewed interest from consumers and manufacturers in recent years. With its in-house processor and a design that emphasizes performance, portability, and display quality, the new device is positioned to compete with flagship tablets from other major brands.
