Tango Gameworks has announced a significant update for Hi-Fi Rush that removes Denuvo from the PC version, marking an important step as both the studio and the game move to their new publisher, KRAFTON. This update is part of a broader internal shift as the development team prepares the title for long-term support under its new home.
The studio confirmed that while the game will no longer use Denuvo, a separate anti-tampering system will continue operating in the background. This internal system is designed to function without affecting gameplay. Tango Gameworks also encouraged players to continue supporting the title through legal means to ensure the team can keep producing future projects.

The announcement confirms that the new patch is mandatory for all PC users. Because the update includes major structural adjustments to the game’s internal framework, players are required to install it before January 16, 2026, at 00:00 KST. After this cutoff, any copy of Hi-Fi Rush that remains on an older build will no longer start. The patch is compulsory due to the removal of Denuvo, which influences essential parts of the game’s PC architecture. With the DRM system taken out, several core components needed to be redesigned, resulting in a new build that must replace all previous versions.

In addition to the major backend changes, the update includes several adjustments across all platforms. These updates are related to administrative and branding changes as part of the game’s transition to KRAFTON. Players will see updated publisher information throughout the interface, along with a new Tango Gameworks logo on the splash screen. The studio clarified that no content affecting gameplay, story, or player progression has been changed during this process. Creative elements and in-game messages that reflect the game’s themes remain untouched.

The developers acknowledged that this update arrives after what was previously announced as the final patch. With the shift to KRAFTON now underway, additional housekeeping updates became necessary to ensure a smooth transition and uninterrupted service. While the studio did not confirm whether more updates will follow, it emphasized that the current patch is crucial for stable operation going forward.
Players across all platforms are encouraged to apply the update promptly, and PC users in particular must do so before the January 2026 deadline to avoid losing access. As Hi-Fi Rush enters its next chapter under KRAFTON, this update ensures the game remains functional and supported as its technical and administrative infrastructure evolves.
