The SKN Bifang Ultra 8K is shaping up as a low-profile mechanical keyboard aimed at users who want high polling rates without moving to a bulky traditional keyboard. The new model combines 8kHz polling, tri-mode connectivity, a 2000mAh battery, and low-profile POM switches in a 21.9mm-thick chassis.
The Bifang Ultra 8K supports wired USB-C, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth connectivity. SKN says the keyboard can reach an 8kHz polling rate when connected through USB-C or 2.4GHz, making those modes the primary options for users who want the fastest input reporting. It also works with both Windows and macOS.
Battery life is another major part of the keyboard’s design. The Bifang Ultra 8K uses a 2000mAh battery and can reportedly run for up to 635 hours with ZMK firmware. The actual runtime will vary depending on the connection mode and RGB lighting settings, but the claimed figure puts the keyboard in a different category from many compact wireless mechanical keyboards.
SKN has kept the chassis at 21.9mm thick and uses a six-layer gasket structure. The rear section includes Bifang-themed decoration and integrated two-stage kickstands, giving users two additional typing-angle positions.
The keyboard uses Milke POM low-profile switches with a total travel distance of 3.1 ± 0.3mm. Buyers will be able to choose between linear Red and Micro-Tactile Brown switches. The switches use POK top and bottom housings with POM stems, while steel plate stabilizers are included for the larger keys.
Other specifications include south-facing RGB backlighting and PBT double-shot keycaps. The combination of low-profile switches, a slim chassis, and multiple connection options gives the Bifang Ultra 8K a specification list aimed at both gaming and everyday typing.
