The next mainline entry in the long-running survival horror series has reportedly reached a stage where internal discussions and activity suggest a public announcement is imminent.
The claim comes from Dusk Golem, a name familiar to fans of the franchise for accurately leaking information about past Resident Evil titles. In a recent post on X, Dusk Golem stated they are “95% sure” that Resident Evil 9 will be shown during the event, although they stopped short of providing full confirmation. According to the insider, the level of internal chatter and movement behind the scenes is consistent with what typically precedes a game reveal of this magnitude.
The development history of Resident Evil 9 has seen significant changes over the years. Initial work on the game began in 2017, during a period when CAPCOM was reacting to slower sales of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard.
