REDMAGIC has officially announced the REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 5 Pro in China, introducing its latest flagship gaming tablet with high-end hardware designed for mobile gamers and content creators. The tablet will launch globally under the name REDMAGIC Astra 2 Gaming Tablet, with international pricing, availability, and regional specifications scheduled to be revealed on July 17, 2026.
The new model builds on REDMAGIC’s gaming-focused product lineup by combining Qualcomm’s latest flagship mobile processor, a high refresh rate OLED display, advanced cooling technology, and AI-powered software features. While gaming remains the primary focus, the company is also positioning the tablet as a device for entertainment, productivity, and cross-device connectivity.
Powering the REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 5 Pro is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, manufactured on a 3nm process. It works alongside REDMAGIC’s proprietary RedCore R4 gaming chip and the company’s Energy Cube 3.0 optimization engine. According to REDMAGIC, this combination helps improve graphics processing, optimize memory usage, and intelligently allocate CPU and GPU resources based on gaming workloads.
The display is one of the biggest highlights of the new gaming tablet. REDMAGIC has equipped the device with a 9.06-inch 2.4K OLED panel featuring an 185Hz refresh rate, making it one of the fastest OLED displays currently available in a compact gaming tablet. The display supports adaptive refresh rates ranging from 60Hz to 185Hz, allowing it to balance performance and battery efficiency depending on the content being displayed.
The tablet also supports 2K gaming with frame interpolation up to 144Hz across more than 200 compatible games. This feature is designed to deliver smoother visuals in supported titles while maintaining stable performance during extended gaming sessions.
Using the latest X10 OLED material, the screen reaches 1,600 nits peak brightness and 1,100 nits full-screen brightness, improving visibility in bright environments. Touch responsiveness has also received attention with the inclusion of the Synaptics S3930 touch controller, delivering a 300Hz multi-touch sampling rate, up to 2,000Hz instantaneous touch response, and 1ms input latency. REDMAGIC has also included a wet-touch algorithm designed to maintain touch accuracy even when the display is exposed to light moisture.
The tablet continues REDMAGIC’s transparent design language, allowing users to see part of the internal cooling system through the rear panel. The transparent back also houses 11 RGB LED lighting units, adding customizable lighting effects during gameplay. The device features ultra-thin 4.9mm bezels, a 90.1% screen-to-body ratio, and a flat rear design without a raised camera module, making it more comfortable to hold during long gaming sessions.’
Thermal management is another area where REDMAGIC has introduced new technology. The Gaming Tablet 5 Pro features what the company describes as the industry’s first active liquid cooling system in a gaming tablet. The system circulates fluorinated coolant through sealed tubing using an ultra-thin micro pump while working alongside Liquid Metal 3.0, a large vapor chamber, and multiple heat dissipation layers to reduce operating temperatures under heavy workloads.
Battery capacity is rated at 8,300mAh, with the Chinese version supporting 80W fast charging. The tablet also supports reverse charging for compatible accessories. REDMAGIC has included dual USB-C ports, allowing users to charge the tablet comfortably while gaming in landscape orientation. Both ports support bypass charging, reducing battery heat by supplying power directly to the system during gameplay.
Audio is powered by a 1227 stereo speaker system with N’Bass tuning for improved bass performance. Security features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and facial recognition, while USB 3.2 Gen 2 provides faster wired data transfers. The tablet also supports smartphone network sharing, synchronized calls and messages across devices, and external display output at up to 4K resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate.
The Gaming Tablet 5 Pro ships with REDMAGIC OS 11.5, which introduces the latest MORA AI Agent 2.0. The software includes AI-powered gaming optimization, productivity tools, video editing features, gameplay recording, replay creation, and an e-ink reading mode designed to reduce eye strain during extended reading sessions.
REDMAGIC also highlighted the tablet’s use in professional mobile esports. According to the company, the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro has received certifications for several competitive gaming events in China, including tournaments for Call of Duty: Mobile, CrossFire Mobile, Wild Rift, Arena Breakout, and the Speed League (S League). These certifications are intended to demonstrate the tablet’s ability to maintain stable performance and responsive controls during competitive play.
